The Registrar of Voters Office performs a range of election-related duties and and other public services that increase citizen participation and education.
Important Announcement
As of July 1, 2025, the Sonoma County Registrar of Voters Office is its own department and is no longer a division of the Sonoma County Clerk-Recorder-Assessor department. As of July 22, the head of the new standalone Registrar of Voters department is Evelyn Mendez, who was appointed by the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors. Nomination period for Nov. 4 Uniform District Election extended to Aug. 13
Sonoma County Registrar of Voters Evelyn Mendez announced that candidate nominations for the following special district offices up for election in November have been extended to Wednesday, Aug. 13 because one or more incumbents did not file by the Aug. 8 deadline.
